A Heavyweight story that is currently doing the rounds is that former great Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield (44-10-2-1, 29 KOs) may return to the ring later this year.
The 50 year old Holyfield, one of the sports most exciting fighters in his prime, is rumoured to be talking to the team behind unbeaten Pole Krzysztof Zimnoch (14-0-1, 11). Although the American hasn't been seen in a ring for over 2 years the appeal of his name on Zimmoch's record may well be enough of a lure to pay the hefty fee that Holyfield would be demanding.
A shadow of his former self, the former Cruiserweight and Heavyweight champion is a fighter who would evidently be looking for a payday though can no longer command the multi-million dollars that he was receiving in his heyday.
We'd suggest that the story has some weight behind it, but the actual bout is unlikely to come off, with Zimmoch against Artur Szpilka (14-0, 11) looking a more more intriguing match up.
